According to the lagos state government, there were 10,000 motorcycles and tricycles reported accidents recorded at the general hospitals alone from 2016 to 2019.
These numbers excludes unreported cases and those recorded by other hospitals, the total number of death from reported cases is over
600 as stated, for instant the case of Ayinbo Peace who instead of enjoying her honey moon by now is lying on a hospital bed as a result of a reckless okada bike rider.
Ayinbo Peace stated that "we wear coming back from lagos island when we went to buy our wedding ring the bike man was on a very high speed so we now had the accident, i have a fraction on my two legs at three different places".
Apart from the increase in accidents, rate of crimes aided by motorcycles and tricycles keeps rising hence, they need to comment the enforcement of the law which barns the operations of motorcycles and tricycles in some places in lagos which includes fifteen major local government and local council development areas in the state one of the heads of lagos state states that "the full r enforcement begins in 1st February, 2020 we will make sure we protect lagos state citizens from the negligible road accidents so we barn bicycles and tricycles from entering into some areas".
They added that all offender and violators will be dealt with in accordance with the law in lagos.
