DISCUSSION WITH THE HEAD OF THE NEW MINISTRY (FEDERAL MINISTRY OF HUMANITARIANS AFFAIRS, DISASTER MANAGEMENT AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT).

Hajiya Sadiya Umar farouq holds a masters degree in international affairs and diplomacy, and also a masters degree in business administration. 

 In 2016 she was known as the federal commissioner  National Commission for refuges, migrant and internally displaced persons, that was a position she held until she had an appointment as the minister of Humanitarians affair, disaster management and social development. 

   Hajiya Sadiya said that they have a determination to cope and they are very focused being it as a new ministry, they are going to archive what they have set out to archive. The ministry of Humanitarians affairs, disaster management and social development was created by President Muhammadu Buhari  on the 21st of August, 2019 to provide coordination and caution to the governments efforts in saving humanitarians in the country as well as ensuring strategic disaster negotiation and cohesion as well as formulating and socializing efforts towards social activities  in this country. As we are aware we have several serious humanitarians issues challenges in this country, we have had agencies of government in place but government upon it is wisdom form it is necessary that we have a coordinating body that will coordinate all these efforts under a new ministry which will tackle issues for better.

   The vision of the ministry is to create a sustainable social systems that will promote human dignity in the country. the key priority areas of the ministry is the formulation of  policies and and frameworks also creating data management source evaluation mechanism a funding system where to get budgets with allocations as at when due and improved, as well as sousing from donor agencies. The agencies working under the control of this ministry includes the: National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), National Commissions for refuges, migrants and Internal displaced person, North-east development commission, STG's, Social investment Program, Welfare department and the Rehabilitation department.
